Conversational Lighting

Irradiate is a sculptural statement piece intended to call attention to the tons of new and usable textiles that end up in landfills every year. Textile waste can’t be solved by just one designer, but through conversation we can begin to hold major fashion corporations accountable.  

The fashion industry is guilty of forcing trends and convincing consumers they are better off when they buy more stuff. This leads to extreme overproduction of clothes, which will end up in the landfills after just a few uses.
