Pondering the Danish Way

Inspired by my experiences and the spaces around me, this abstract, blob-like pattern features a deep blue color often found in Danish ceramics.  The task at hand was to design a textile pattern following a study of Scandinavian designers.  Collecting inspiration along the way, as seen in the following sketchbook pages, led to a foundation in color theory and the comfort found in familiarity.  A highlight of this project was experimenting and understanding how to create pattern repeats.
